It is a warm colored wood tough and great grain to it.
 
Osage is some nice looking wood for scales. It actually ages and patinas with use. In the beginning it is yellow in appearance. Over time it turns more orange.
John, check with Philip Patton. I bought a load of it from him a few years ago. Not sure if he still has any.

canranger, that is a pretty knife, excellent job! I like the red, white and blue liners, great idea for patriots! That sounds like a great name for that knife.
 
Actually it is called the Boreal it is part of a 3 knife series for woodcraft Boreal, carolnian, and Savannah. The particular model was ordered by a gentlemen in Texas.
