oscilating sander

does anyone use a oscilating spindle sander? If so,what are some benefits and for what?-marekz
 
I use one for cleaning up some things.they work great for the vertical grind lines.but are'nt much for heavy metal removal.i just ordered the kmg ER-48 :)
 
I just use a sanding drum on my drill press, quick to change and alot of sizes to fit your need. Work good on steel as well, I am a little worried about if the sanding media available for spindle sanders will work well with steel. I just dont have the room for another piece of equipment as well.
