I survived it.Hawkins & Gary Powers had a C-119.Need a knife said Mrs. Powers, would you like plain edge or serrated?Actually both.A plain edge MT SOCOCOM a serrated edge Spiderco Civilian. The one to cut paper and the other to cut line.I brought a WW11 HI ,the two BM Autos.I did not use the HI at all.I used the Spydie for orange quartering.I used the plain edge for the usual tasks.I did bring the L-UDT to show off.

Radials, Ragwings, doping, ceconite, Taildraggers with crosswind gear. S turning to see where you're going. The old Cessna 140. I'm starting to hyperventilate. Good thing one of my friends dad runs the local FBO. Glad you enjoyed it, Ghost.

Plus the straight skinny on the F-22 from Paul Metze the chief test pilot.

GHOST,
Does the F-22 pilot feel he's one step closer to the pilotless airplane, or will it be wildly expensive airplanes and no one to fly them?
The retention rate is appalling, and the "new" breed of pilots in the pipeline is very, very different from what the flying arms were built on for years.
If we were still active as senior officers it would take a lot of adjusting that I know I couldn't or wouldn't handle.
Just my thoughts on a subject that was once very near and dear...

I learned to fly in a Piper Cub, the J-3, 1939 model -- needle, ball, airspeed and altimeter and sometimes the airspeed and alitimeter didn't work. Did you see any of those ancient critters up at Oshkosh, Ghost?

Beaupoupe J-3`s Uncle. The usual suspects attended.According to Paul, anyone here could fly the F-22.Master switch on,push start.

Mine had a 65HP Continental -- good for maybe 80 mph cruise if everything was running right. Seems inflation has hit the J-3.

A full IFR avionics suiet is another $30,000.Don Luscombe`s 8- F is being made again @$70,000.There is a turbine MOD. in developement.

Full avionics! $30,000!

I think I had 500 hours before I ever flew an airplane that had even a five channel Lear com radio aboard let alone any nav stuff.
