WOW!!!! A lot of the big Sharks are out tonight!!!! Awesome batch of knives this week Chris!! They were making me drool on my keyboard!! Great picks Gentlemen!!!! I'm so Jealous I can't stand myself!!![]()
Thank you! I was pleasantly surprised with the sale tonight.
Some really nice ones in there. Congrats to all who got one and to Chris for the clean sweep!
Late to the party! I really like the handle set up on the Raptor. Sweet batch Chris! I'm saving up for the right Ranger!
Congrats on the super fast sell out Chris! Superb pieces tonight.
I don't think it's any surprise to say that I am a very big fan of the Raptor. I have two already and hopefully one in the pipeline someday down the road. The one tonight held a special interest to me for a reason that may not be obvious on your first look. Sure the carbon fiber over black with toxic green pinstripe is one of my favorite handle combos. I love that along with tapered 3/32" CPM 154 with the buckshot type hammer texturing. Very attractive all the way around, but that is still not the "it" factor that caught my eye.
The small change on this one that makes a huge difference to me is that this one is guardless (i.e. the bottom of the guard does not extend below the back of the cutting edge.) This is the first one I have seen like that. I hope we see more like that because it makes the knife more cutting board friendly with no downside that I can think of.

On the Fiddleback forum, there is a lot of positive buzz about the Old School Ladyfinger with its taller guardless blade vs. the standard Ladyfinger. I'll bet a lot of Osprey Raptor fans would like to see more guardless ones like this. I hope others will chime in to give their opinion one way or the other about this.
Awesome job this week Chris!

Ok Chris, it's time for your daily affirmation. Repeat after me......"I am a maker of awesome knives"
Congrats on the "blink of the eye" sale last night. After watching you hand sharpen each of those knives yesterday at the shop I am confident that the new owners are going to be mighty pleased.
I was beginning to get a bit concerned about my good friend Phil's fondness toward your Raptor model, however, when you consider that an Osprey typically has 4 talons, now that he has snagged #3 he still has room for one more. That is if you don't start counting on the other leg
My final question about last night post sale is.........Did you or didn't you ?

Damn Chris, They are all stunning. I need something like that Mamushi in my life.
Nice batch. I'm in Japan right now and low and behold I actually saw a Mamushi Viper while fishing in the mountains. Pretty cool, thought of you as it slithered away quickly!
