That is one tough old dude. I'm hoping soon to get an M1 Garand through the Civilian Marksmanship program, hopefully I won't have to use it against the black bears that have free roam of NJ.

Oooooh...I want one too. Some years ago I bought a M1 from the DCM (pre CMP). It was a Springfield with practically new condition WWII dated barrel. At one point I went through a "custom" 1911 phase and sold off the M1 to pay for the gunsmithing work. Now I wished I'd never sold the M1. They are sweet, and I still have a .50cal. ammo can full of clips loaded with M2 ball. See, I gotta get another M1 cause I have ammo for it... Does that make sense to anyone else but me?
