OT-Afghanistan: The knife is quicker'n the bug

As a kid I used to try everything, you can eat almost all insects, even a spider.Probably a good idea to,there are a lot of bugs
in the world.Bon appeti,Karels

The bite from a female Black Widow in July 2001 made me the sickest I have ever been. All the flu I had ever had doesn't compare.

You should issue maces and flails instead of Khuks. I'd like to see a spider come into a tent of mace-armed Marines.

Spiders ain't the worst, waking up to find a rat crawling on you can really wreck your beauty sleep, and I need mine more than most.:(

Maces and flails? I'm not sleeping in that tent, "sorry about your cranium bubba, but hey, I got the bug". ;)

YOU JUST WAIT YOU WAR-MONGERING SPIDER-KILLER. SPIDERS WILL BE ROAMING THE STREETS OF AMERICA SOON AND THEN YOU'LL GET YOUR JUST DESSERTS! THAT WOULD SERVE UNCLE BILL RIGHT FOR BEING ARACHNOPHOBIC!

I HOPE THE SPIDERS WIN AND YOU ALL GET THE HEEBIE-JEEBIES!

;) :D :p

Make it a ball shaped mace. The five flanged mace next to my computer desk lets them run in between the flanges, you may get a leg or two, but... hey, what about concussion grenades?

Y'all are going to spoil all the fun with your WOADs (weapons of arachnid destruction). I'll stick to spearing 'em on the point of my knife. Everybody in Afghanistan went on and on about them Camel spiders being quick as greased lightning. When they saw me neatly skewer one with a four inch blade whittlin' knife they realized slow talking country boys can move pretty quick too. ;)

Geezer, that's a fair imitation of a foul attitude, but I like to let sleeping dogs lie, don't you?

"Chemicals such as bug sprays are not recommended as they most likely will do nothing but make the spider angry, said officials"

I'd say your knife usage was right on target sarge!:D

I also read in that link that they can reach speeds of up to 10mph!!! That is one fast bug!

Kinda gives new meaning to the term "afraid of your own shadow" doesn't it;) :D

Uncle Billllllll, they're HERE!!!!!

""The following question was sent to the P & PDL diagnosticians here at Purdue University:
Q: I live in New Mexico and I have found six camel spiders in my home. I would like to know how to get rid of them and if they are poisonous.

A: Camel spiders can sometimes be referred to as sun spider and also wind scorpions. They are in the family solifugae and are very fond of shade. These spiders are not poisonous and do not bite unless they feel distraught.

--Nathan E. Saxe (July 13, 1998)""

Camel spiders aren't just for overseas anymore...

Hopefully, the 'just desserts' doesn't (don't?) include Spider Souffle.

Apologies of course to Kendo, but I just couldn't resist making a bit light of that situation. Besides it was late.:D

Edit: Kendo I hope you find that post above funny as I did. You are OK, even if you do go off your nut and tell people to get stuffed once in awhile.

Maybe a good root and dinner at the Y would help.

:D :D :D

a wrist-rocket slingshot would be perfect for the spiders. Might be fun too. (Do NOT use ball bearings for this sport.)

Didn't Whamoo make a blow-gun with needle darts? Hmmmm.

Unh unh Kis, Murphy loves unauthorized projectile weapons. That's a mishap report this old boy don't want to be filling out. "Gee Captain, how is it y'all happen to have a blowgun dart stuck in the back of y'all's head?" Then again, sometimes......oh never mind
