That wouldn't surprise me at all, in the first of the book, Shadout Mapes, in a brief encounter with Lady Jessica, gives her a Crysknife. Jessica describes it as "A black handle with deep finger ridges protruded it (from a dark sheath). " "...It was double edged like a kindjal and the blade was perhaps 20cm long."
