Well, it seems Pop brought back a bayonet from Vietnam. Turns out it's an early M16 bayonet with the slab handles missing. My brother also has a couple that need to be ID'd.

finally you helped me to identify a bayonett my grandfather owned - its a German Model 1939 short "dress" bayonett, nickel plated but in pretty good shape (better than the one pictured on the link below and complete with a frog. always wondered. German 1939 short dress bayonett
May I ask the specialists if this is rare or expensive (I do not think as a "dress" bayonett it might have stayed at "home" during the war and would not get lost when the German Army surrendered.)
