post-birthday indulgence:

what do you think of the revamped 'cover-photo' for my online Beowulf?:

Beowulf on Steoraume

note the pattern-welded blade 'forged' (at least in 1 sense of the word) in Photoshop
cheers
B.

edited because I realised I 'Old Anglicised' Photoshop into 'photoscope' ;)

Beo, that's a great image! Any chance of it being posted somewhere in a larger size ? Like, say, 1024x768 ? It'd make a fantastic desktop background :)

Wonderful picture. I notice that beside the pattern welded blade, the tree in the left background leans at the exact angle of a Javanese keris with the gonjo held level to the horizon and the gandik pointed, as is proper, to the left.

There is much more here as well.

Nice job Beoram

thanks Uncle Bill and all

I looked through many photos of English fens for something that had the surreality of the mere of the poem, but finally came upon this photo, which is actually the Louisiana bayou, which I thought perfect.

Saxon warriors in Louisiana; does that make it the Bayou Tapestry?

Beo, thanks much for the larger images :) Makes my desktop look great!

It looks like an Enigma machine or other such encryption box.

BTW, I love your site! Excellent work and Thank You for keeping Beowulf alive!

yes, enigma - though if one looks closely in the larger version, you'll see it's actually mirror-imaged ;)

Hey Beo, anything for those of us who use larger resolution on our screens? I've got this critter set at 1280x1024
