I choose to use the Enigma device because of its look - I wanted a sort of 'analogue-technological' look, like in the film <i>Le cit&eacute de les enfants perdus</i> ('City of Lost Children') -- for if 'computer technology' had somehow been invented in the middle ages, I think it would have looked more like that.
