Hey fellas,
Its a bit of a warm and muggy overcast day here in the toe of Indiana. I'm stuck in the office bored to tears. Outside i've noticed that the local Harley Davidson dealership is having some kind of H.O.G. charity ride. I think it was scheduled for yesterday, but we received buckets of rain here. This would be a perfect day for a ride. I know a few of the regulars in here are into bikes, but i was wondering what kind you guys rode. Doesn't have to be a harley or anything. Honda, beamer, moped, bicycle with a baseball card in the spokes. Who knows, maybe this will lead to a himalayan imports biker gang:D I'd like to do a little correlational study between the size of a person's khuk of choice and the bike they ride. Just curious. besides, it beats working:)

TIA
Jake
btw, I ride a 2003 Harley 883 Sportster

I rode a '77 Triumph Bonneville for six years. Does that make me a "retired biker?" :)

I was off road and trail rider for years but 250cc was biggest I could handle on the side of a mountain.

A slew through the years...currently an 01 FXDWG (HD Wide Glide). Khuks of all sizes...

It's good to see you didn't leave Bruise out!

ps: That'd be biker "Association"

got 4 bikes...00' Confederate GT, 00' Confederate Hellcat, 97' Suzuki TL 1000s and 02' Kawa Ninja 250r...The Hollister Rally is comming up and any rider is welcomed to ride out to Hollister with us. The main meeting spot is in Pruendale at Mc Donalds on Sat at 10:00 (might change the time to 9:00)

I'll second that. The most memorable ones would be: a 400 cc Yamaha (I rode from MCAS Cherry Pt. NC to Denver and back) and a Honda CB550 (I rode it over a lot of southern Honshu,Japan).
Regards,
Greg

Do lawnmowers count? --Bruise

Sure thing, Bruise! You could ride out ahead of us and clear a "less traveled" path through a cow pasture:) Roads are for sissies and people scared of getting cow patties on their tires. Thanx for all the replies, guys. I had no idea there were this many bikers <<ahem, er, cough>>. I mean Associates ( thank you, Nasty:)) in the cantina.

I rode an old HD Sportster for years, can't remember the year of the bike. Also toured around Arizona on one of those old late 70's Kawasaki 1000cc's. Which was a blast, I was too stupid back then to wear a helmet.

I lost a friend who was riding when his time came. I haven't been back on one since.

I keep wondering why my son in law's brother, the trauma nurse, keeps calling me "Organ Doner"?

i dont have a bike (yet  ), but i do have a really nice biker jacket - a langlitz goatskin columbian (regular style, with eupolets), weighs a full 10lbs

Hi Guys
2002 Trumph Bonneville here, got back into bikes post- divorce.

Lets see... Walosi started me off on the back of his bike when I was about four years old. In junior high school, he got me a Yamaha TY250 Trials bike.

When I was in the Air Force, I got a '74 BMW R90-6, which got me through my time in Texas, Spain, and Germany. Then I went through a 89 Harley Springer Softail, a 90 Harley ElectaGlide, a 91 Low Rider Custom (FXLR... best HD ever). The FXLR got stolen and I replaced it s couple of years later with a 94 BMW K100. The Harley bug bit hard a few months later and I finally replaced the stolen FXLR with a 92 HD FXLR. Unfortunately, Harley's had gotten 'cool' by then and I paid $4000 more used than I had for my new '91.

I sold the '92 in order to go to school and haven't been in shape to get another one since. I suppose I could be considered a retired biker. Maybe sometime in the next couple of years.

Walosi had always been a Yamaha fan.

I once rode a '49, think it was, may have been earlier, Indian around the block once. It had the old side bar suicide shifter and I never got outta first gear. :p
Then I rode my stepson's 750 Honda to the store one day to make a beer and smoke run, First time I ever carried anything on a bike but thought it was a good choice.:D Used to ride my buddy's little old Triumph around the block once in a while as well.;)
My trouble was that I saw the after effects of a terrible bike accident when I was almost six years old and the mangled bike has never left my memory, damn near killed the good friend of ours who was riding it down the mountain, figured he was doin maybe 120 when it crashed, just back from the war he was. :(

Strictly comic relief-

I had a motorcycle lic in my early twenties so I could drive my buddies Honda 90 around town. (he rode that bike with back pack from the East Coast to Santa Cruz Ca) One night I took a turn too wide and smashed into a curb. It tore me up a little bit, but what really scared me is I missed a telephone pole by a couple feet.
I knew I was not meant to ride motorcycles. Naturally, that was my conclusion- not that I shouldn't have been sht faced while riding it.

but I do ride now and again.

First time: Laid a buddies bike down (long story how) and did a hi-velocity face plant on the pavement. I hit so hard and fast I had brushburns on mylegs where the jeans caught the pavement and slid across me legs. Sore fer weeks...knnocked the fairing loose on the bike.

Last time I rode was in the Bahamas, Abaco. The island is long, with paved roads, but the population is so tiny you can ride all day and just see a few cars. Jest gotta watch fer the big lizards and land crabs. It was a beautiful way to see the island, and to cool down on the really hot and still-air Bahamian days.

I don't trust auto drivers in the states enuf to have a bike here (unliess i was in AZ or someplace like the badlands). Buddy of my dad's was a motorcycle cop whe met his end in a trajic hi-speed chase.

P.S. Loud pipes save lives!

Rode a Royal Enfield Bullet [350 cc] during my college years 86-94. Not been on a bike since :( .
Yaj.

just little old 21 speed here, that's somewhat beat up(actually just thinking it sabout time to go ride today as it's cooled down somewhat).

Rode friends little dirt biek a few times growing up, will probalby get one myself if I ever live far enough outof town to have some land. WOn't dride on the street unless I have to. My dad is still dealing with aftereffects of somoene hitting him, with the full hip replacement a year and a half ago(sur edoesn't seem that long ago), bad arthritis in shoulder(site of pins and screws from another accident), and probably going to have to get knee on tht same leg done sometime in next few years. As already has been said, I don't trust the other drivers enough to ride on street.

I currently own a '69 Sporty XLCH. Deep blue with ol' skool white pinstripe & a maroon '94 Intruder. I don't consider myself a biker. Just a man on a motorcycle. I've owned a few rice burners & a couple HD's over the years. I guess the favorites I've owned would be a chopped (IIRMC) 650 Honda '74 or there abouts & '81 Yama TT 500. The 650 was cool but man there was a lotta front end slap when takin' curves at ,um, high velocity. That TT tho was a dream. Flick the wrist, rack them pipes, & I would be on one wheel long as I dared. I did loop out a time or two. Then I started mounting the mirrors under the handle bars. I had a '76 Liberty Sporty it was nice on short runs. Mounted a low tunnel Mustang tank , fat tires, saddle bags & mandatory tool kit. So in keeping with the thread I would say I favor big full tang Khukri's & light weight scooters.
