I live about a mile from the start of the Rockies, got the plains to the east and mountains to the west, I can't see them, I'm too close. The raptor's nest around here this time of the year. They close off a lot of the open space so's not to disturb the birds. Ever seen a pissed off mother bald eagle ?
The road to work is ten miles through agricultural land, our open space buffer, which keeps reality away from Boulder
. The trees lining the road are occupied by nesting birds, bald and golden eagles and red tailed hawks.
We had some pigeons move into the area behind work, A juvenile red tail made an example out of him, the others got the hint. Had a hard time not spooking him to get the shots.
The area I walk the dogs on weekdays is home to some great horned owls. Occasionally a big male will swoop low over head checking to see how fat my corgi's really are.
I finally remembered the camera and snapped some shots. I'm not sure if I've photographed 2 or 3 different owls, I think 3 different ones, couldn't find the forth from before.
