No wonder no one wanted to mess with "Zie Gerhmahns". That is a wicked looking knife on top there, N2S!

He only has one boot.

Yep, and I'm still saving it for Bruise.

Do you ever carry it in your boot? Do you find it worth the trouble to do so?

Jeb, I've never worn a knife in my boot, but I have on occasion carried a J-frame in it.

I've got a couple of boot knives. One similar to N2S's and another cheap in price Japanese model that highly impressed me right outta the box!!!! It had a needle sharp tip that I broke off when I slipped off the Formica I was scoring with it and it went into the linoleum and then the concrete slab under it.:( I finally brought it back to original sharpness when I got a DMT Duofold that would finally cut the hard stainless.
The flame dagger is one my Barbie bought me, actually the first knife she bought me and will always be one of my treasures.:D
Carried them both on a belt but never in a boot as I very, very seldom wear a boot even though I do have a pair.;)

though i normally wouldnt call this a boot knife, i generally consider a knife thats carried in this manner a boot knife of sorts. its just a little easier (for me) then actually clipping it to the boot. i can yank on this as hard as a want withou tfearing that that the sheat will come with the knife. (busse ucsk). it also allows for larger knives to be carried.

I can't hardly believe I just saw an unshaven hairy leg!!!! All I can think is that the hair on your arms must replenish themselves at an alarming rate, how else does one check to see if their knives are shaving sharp I ask?!?!?!?!!!!  :p  :D ;)

Boot knives are usually small fixed-blade double-edged daggers.

I prefer single-edged blades, though, and not just because double-edged blades
are illegal to carry in many states. Here is an example of what I feel to be a perfect "boot knife", by John Greco (NOTE: Greco is out of the tactical knife business, so if you find one of these at a decent price, now is the time to buy it):

Wonder if I could send one of these to the kamis, and maybe make it a regular HI item. Hey! Who's good with wooden models? Email me. I think I have a great deal for you.

Nice Greco John! An ideal stashed fighter...why'd he stop making them???

Interesting carry method. I'd probably give myself gangrene if I did that. :)

Raghorn's boot... it just won't go away. :barf: ;)
If I ever lose a foot and the other one grows about four inches, I'll let ya know.

from what i understand, it was medical problems. doc said that if greco continued making knives like he was, some really bad things would start happening to his body... never read any details though...

greco makes a very fine knife...

i measure how sharp my knives are by how the slip into skin :D

by runing the edge across your thumb until it bites in, you can tell if there's any rough spots in your grit, and how well the edge is stropped. now, this isnt till you see blood, just through 2 or 3 layers of skin (out of like 45 until you get to capilaries). cutting hairs isnt anything to be proud of - when you cant touch your edge at all, thats something to be proud of. ive only done it once, with an almost zero ground busse dcbb assault shaker... got it to a mere 21 degree's, and it was dangerous to use. if i had brought it to 17 - i couldnt have used it. i would have ended of hitting bone at some point without noticing it until it was to late.

Seth's on the right track. Mr. Greco is finally recovering, but he's going to just be making a Scagle style that is really beautiful...no more ugly knives. :)

Generally a boot knife is a dagger, usually with a sheath that will clip inside your boot. Here's a good example below.
