OT-Bowie knives

Skeletor, if I were you I'd check n2s's non-military anitiques section! :)

Thanks for all of the quick help guys. So far, the Camillus seems closest to what I had in mind. It is exactly what comes to my mind when I think of a bowie knife.

Then find one of the older ones made from carbon steel. You should be able to find one on EBAY for less than $60. If you want a superb custom bowie, try to find one by Steve Voorhis. They are forged from 5160 and you can sometimes find them on ebay for less than $300.

Gotta love those big bowies.

I like this Eight Dollar Mountain Foundry. I'd have to go with one of those mean looking type C handles but don't know which blade. What are Smatchets like compared to a bowie or kukri? EDMF has some good prices but it's too bad about the 6-7 month wait.

The AK Bowie is a hell of a knife :)
I have a Cold Steel Laredo Bowie. It is alright.
The Swamp Rat Battle Rat is a hell of a knife for $160.
Heard great things about the Beckers, too.
I also have an old Western M49 Bowie, carbon steel. It was my first Bowie, my father gave it to me. The guard is a little big, but it's a great knife.
The Mineral Mountain Bowies look like great workers. I've wanted one for a while.

Those D guards are awful!:barf:

Yes but it would be effective in a fight, espectially with studs across the front and one large stud on the bottom.
