That is a nice one. The scout is pretty much the same thing with the addition of a picatinny mount for a intermediate eye relief scope.

You are correct! I read that those barrel mounted optics get HOT! I wanted the 18" barrel and the I really do hate muzzle breaks. Mine was made before the whole, compete with the AR thing... I've debated putting a scope on it but the irons work well and not putting an optic on it saves a lot of $ that can be spent on Busses! That ZTBM is nice too BTW.

Springfield Super match with a kreighoff barrel. tackdriver all day long, but cleaning is a PIA compared to an AR design. My AR-10 takes about 10 minutes to get spotless while the M1A is at least a half hour process to get spotless, or 15-20 minutes to get "good enough to put away for now. But oh so fun to shoot nontheless.

I could never put a scope on mine though, it seems almost sacraligious to do so... kinda like putting tiger print seat covers on a ferrari....

I too just bought a SAI Na'tl Match. picked up a Harris bi pod,six mags.the first mod was to change out the factory flash suppresor for one with the evil lug.Basset mount, Still waiting on Optics-Burris tac 4.5x14x42.
Down side-I wish I'd bought more 7.62x51 back when it cheaper.
