OT/Compact 9's

Thanks, Gang.
I'd love me a P7.
This new pistol almost got me divorced!! What's a matter with these wives??
:D

Hey Rolf -

I did not care for the old LC9 trigger, but the new one is supposed to be improved - have not tried one yet.

I have the XD/S 4" - that is the only 9mm that could be considered compact that I own at the moment.

I have a couple of .380 back pocket pieces - and my primary is a .45 Kimber.

best

Hi Broh! The S makes all the difference! MUCH improved!
Try one!
btw, I'd love to try a classic Mauser HsC.

I had a Kahr PM9 and carried it daily in my pocket for about 5 years up until this year. It had been 100% (even though several other people I qualified had problems with theirs). This year the slide lock kept jumping up and locking the slide for no apparent reason. Those of you who have taken one apart know that the spring for this is about like a paperclip held in place with a machine screw into plastic. yeah yeah I know it is a no load part but something went screwy with it and I no longer trust my life to it.

Seeing as how I carried a Sig as a full sized gun the Ruger LC9 trigger never bothered me. The grips were contoured weird and the trigger reset was almost a double click which seemed odd to me though so I sold it. The new one might solve the double click part, I have not tried one. Those I have seen have shot fine.

I had a M&P Shield with a safety that I paid premium money for and I promptly sold it to acquire one without a safety. It is too big for my pocket carry but is very thin and awful light for the belt.

I also have a Glock 26 that I like very much. Never had any problems with either Shield or G26. I recommend the Shield more to folks though because the 7 round magazine is a full hand magazine and it is so thin I think more people will carry it more often than the Glock.

I have a Sig 239 and it truly shoots like a full sized pistol. However, loaded it is close in size and weight to a Glock 19 (which I also have) so I don't carry the Sig much unless I get nostalgic anymore.

I cannot imagine comparing a 5906, 6906 or whatever '06 Smith to the compactness and lightweightedness of a LC9 or Shield. IMO they are not even close.

The new H&K VP-9 seems really nice. I can't get used to the mag release but might have to try one anyway.

Of course there is also this "Ultimate Hi Point" Mark you try one of these yet?

That Hi Point is too high $$ for my needs.
The H&K VP9 and Glock G42, I'll look into.

Been carrying the XDS more lately and it is really growing on me. Think it has found a place in the starting lineup.
