OT...Cutco...wow!

Thanks, Tohatchi. The wife is definitely going with me this time. We are good with our knives, and for the record, the M.I.L. does NOT cook. More of a "I can dial takeout like a ninja" type. :D:D:D

I appreciate all the advice people. Keep your ideal combinations coming. All of this info is incredibly usefull!

Okay,

So just got back from running around with the wife. We went back to S-W and returned the Shunions and my wife was able to fondle the Wusthof Classics and Classic Ikons, and the Shun Classics. She was stuck between the Wusthof classics and Ikons. I knew that we could get the Classics at Bed, Bath and Beyond for much cheaper (20% off coupon) and the people at S-W started giving me grief about how the knives sold at those stores are inferior to those at S-W, and that's why S-W is more expensive. Sounds like a load of crap to me: Wusthof Classics are Wusthof Classics, no?

Wifey wavered and waffled and finally, at BB&B, decided on the 23 piece set. I know, people, but what can a man do. Gotta keep the wife happy. : D

Anyway, those will be delivered to our home sometime in the next two weeks. 850$ shipped versus 1080 out the door at W-S. A crapload better than 1650$ for the Cutcos. ; )

So sometime within the next two weeks I'll update with my cooking impressions of the Wusthof Classics. I dare say I won't be let down. Now I just hope the set comes complete and in good order. Anyone wann buy some cheap chinese kitchen knives and a set of stainless Henckels steak knives? : D

Just kidding...

Jason

Oh, and sometime within the week you'll hopefully be seeing some pics of my latest INFI acquisitions. Yeah!

Classics a fantastic. You'll love them. I have several older ones and they're still my favs. As nice as the newer styles and profiles are, the Classics still can't be beat. IMHO

The steel is perfect, balance is great and the blades are the perfect thickness and profile for serious culinary use.
