At least I'm not alone in the highpriced faltering equipment category.
I bought all HP when I got set up. The computer and monitor have worked pretty well but printer and scanner leave much to be desired. The $550 Kodak DC210 has been pretty much of a joke from the start and it's been downhill from day one.
