OT: Don't throw away old files

Nice work Sarge! I have a lot more respect for someone who does it like you do! That is super work. I suspect it's not much fun grinding a file in the hardened state. While I'm certainly no expert, having completed only 6 knives from start to finish, your heat treat should be just right. Many files are made from W-2 which is a very good steel for small knives.

Great work!:D

Nice looking knives! I'm somewhere behind Bruise in knife making ability. :)

Speaking of files made in to knives... Anza Knives does just that. They have been around for 20 years or better I think.

Dadgum Semper, I like the look of those Anza knives, good honest working tools at very reasonable prices. I also like that they're unencumbered by cross/finger guards. Only thing I don't care for is they look to be at least semi-hollow ground. Me and hollow ground don't get along except on straight razors.

Bruise, I'm very impressed with your depiction of the Pan Knife. A couple of observations though, the blade looks a bit light, maybe we could beef it up, and I'm afraid that handle may get too hot to offer a secure grip.:p ;) :D

Sarge,
Those are some fine looking blades. Pretty nice leather work too.

Greg

Bruise adds that special attention to de-tale...:p
