I have four Gmail invites left, and I figured I'd offer them to any Cantina members who are interested. First four to respond to me by email get them. Please include your forum name in your email if it's different than your real name.

I looked it up. It's a large e-mail account.

No similarities to a femail :(

I feel so resourceful. :D

Bruise-- :D

For those of you who don't know, Gmail is Google's web-based email account similar to hotmail or yahoo. They give you 1 GB of free storage and it's very easy to search through your emails, so basically you never have to delete anything and it's easy to search to find old mail. I used hotmail for years, and Gmail is much better. It's in beta testing right now, and is by invite only.

Update: all gone. If I get more, I'll send them to those of you who didn't get one in the first round, and post here if I have extras.

Update again: ok, just got more invites. Everyone who asked for one last time has gotten one. I have four more left. As last time, please request one by email if you want one. First come first served.

Thanks, Josh!:D Very kind of you to share the wealth. Now i need to find a giganto picture to send to my Gmail buddy in Detroit.

thanks again
Jake

Update--all gone again. Took a few days for me to get more last time. I have one person who didn't get one this time, and he's at the top of the list. I'll post here again if I get more.

Josh I considered asking for one this time, but I'm wondering how the spam problem is with the new program and how it's controlled?
I get little spam, but more than I used to on my old ISP, although the majority of it is filtered out on my Yahoo account which is my email server. I'm getting it trained so I'm having less and less there as well.
Does the Gmail have something similar? Put me on you list for next time, if you get more and I may give it a try. Is it ever gonna cost anything?
That's a real important consideration for me.:)

Gmail does have a built in spam filter too, similar to yahoo and Hotmail. Haven't tested it yet. I know Hotmail lets maybe one a week through, yahoo a few more(And the hotmail addy has been around a lot longer). The Gmail one is supposed to be very good too.

Yvsa, I haven't gotten any spam on my gmail account yet. I don't know if there are plans to charge for gmail in the future. I haven't heard anything about that, but it could happen I guess.

Ok, just got six more invites this morning. Everybody from the last round has invites now, including Yvsa. I have four more left, so as usual, first come first serve via email for requests.

--Josh

Once more, six invites if anyone else is interested or if I missed anyone from the last few times. Y'all know the drill.

I would much appreciate in an invite if there are any left, it would be useful to have a Gmail for when I can't use my University of Michigan web mail anymore... And besides, I love google!
