OT: Good Energy Needed

Norm, not having been there, there's not a whole lot I can say. From your description, you didn't miss by much, more like technicalities.

The most important thing, as I see it, is to protect your attitude. You probably know that, under normal circumstances, you can fly quite well.

As for your flight school, arrogance is usually camoflague for insecurity.

Man that bites Norm. Still, it's good that they test so thoroughly. I know it doesn't sound so nice right now, but if you're ever up there and lose your instruments and engine you'll probably be very very grateful. That does sound like a LOT of stuff to keep straight too. Best of luck next time.

I have to agree. There are plenty of yahoos up in the air, believe me, and I wouldn't want these guys testing to a lesser standard. Once you make a mistake like this in practice and it costs you, you learn NEVER to make that mistake again. And if I happened to rent a plane that did not have a GPS and made a diversion error like that in real life, I could end up dead or truly lost out in the middle of nowhere, so it's not trivial. It just bites! :)

Nothing you can do but put the best face on it and try again.

Later,

Norm

Hang in there Norm. Sounds like you did really well, overall. With a test as extensive as that one, it would be a miracle if you didn't make a couple of small mistakes. Now you can just go finish it up.
