OT, Has anyone else noticed odd things with the forum and their computer's?

Time to get modern, Wal, like Yvsa. I saw a 1.5G computer in the paper today for $600. It'll make a new man out of you -- or kill you trying to master it.

When the Cantina is jumpin', new posts come up while I'm trying to keep pace with 4-5 topics, but when things slow down, it appears that new posts are put up in 15-30 min. cycles, as they are on some of the old WebTV groups.
Hydramatic software, that downshifts automatically to match the grade?

Kinda makes me wonder if the problem somehow lies with the H.I.Forum and Not the WebTV I had that was supposed to be breaking this forum.
Doesn't really matter since I had a computer in mind for quite a long while, just wasn't ready to spend the money until I Was ready.:)
I admit that I wished I had bought the computer even sooner with all the other benefits a computer has.
There's a lot I will no doubt never use in the programs and will probably get rid of them at some point to have more memory and speed, but I've been more than happy with the computer.
I have quite an album going with Chloe's pix and need to get back on that project, just not enough hours in a day when happy hour is a nap or two.;) :p   :D

And to think I hated naps when I was a little kid!!!!

Uncle, that which does not kill you makes you stronger (or, you can shower more than once a month, and keep your WebTV :))

Yvsa, Naps only change in time from "forced" to "mandatory". Nowadays a good meal has the same effect as 500cc of "surgical sleepy-bye". :p

Rob, exactly that plus when I only read a post come to the end and want to go back to the HI forum to read another post I click the GO button it sometimes takes a minute to take me to the content listing.
Tested with both my 1G and 1,4G at home with a DSL connection
Do you have the same probem?

Sven,

The only time I have trouble with the forum is when I have posted a reply and I try to hit my back button. It will tell me that that page has expired. Then I just have to go to my favorites list and click the link to Hi forum. Other than that I have no trouble. It only takes several seconds to open a thread, and to return to the main pager from a thread. I am running windows 98, and I'm not sure which IE. My internet connection is 56K(supposedly).

Hi Rob, makes me wonder but this is what why so many are making a fortune with computer :(
It is still great fun

It's my turn to help Rob, It's my turn to help Rob, It's my turn to help Rob!!!!! Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!!!!!!!:D

Rob my computer tells me the same thing if I just click the back button once.
But dealing with the WebTV taught me to click the back button more than once.:)
After you make a post and get the page it was accepted hit the back button immediately. This will return you to the expired page. Hit it again and it will take you to the post you made in the thread. Hit the back button again and it will take you back to all the threads or the forum.
Depending on wheether I want to check my post or go back to the forum determines whether I click the back button twice or three times.

For a while when my posts on the WebTV were messing the forum up, or Not.
I wondered if the use of the back button might have had something to do with my problems with posting, but not replying.
I finally decided it wouldn't make any difference.

On the other hand with our daughter's computer in Arizona I had no choice but to click the Himalayan Imports Forum link.
If I used the back button on her computer it would double post every dayumed time!!!!
I like the back button to move about the forums rather than waiting for the forum to completely load each time.
I hope it works for you!!!!:)

Edit:
Oh yeah. I think if you click the refresh button on the page has expired page your post will reappear.
I haven't tried it as I could see no since to it, because if you tried to edit the post that way and hit submit again you would have made a double post.;)

Personally, I blame Mirco$oft for everything :D Have you folks ever taken a really good look at the preferences/options settings of your programs? Hmmmmmm?

That was pretty funny, bill :D I swear my windows has something against me personally. When it finally becomes surplus to my needs, i will have much fun deciding which tool to disassemble it with....

Onkel, you might have a point there...
not only that my OS is in German produced in the US, my notebook is Austrian, my provider is German running with Japanese and Italian components and my DSL modem is from Taiwan :) can´t really work with that mixture :D :D

Bill, great pic put it to our company intranet, thanks for the laugh.
