That sounds like something Jeff Cooper would have said.

I EDC a Beretta Model 21, 7+1 shot .22 LR , I know where it shoots, and I always have it.

My "gun for when I don't think I will need a gun" choice is a Beretta Tomcat. Light, reliable, and accurate.
