... there are uses for being armed.

I couldn't agree more!

...If Dallas or NYC is nuked; watch out.

If Dallas or NYC is nuked, I'll watch it on TV like you and millions of other Americans, just like we all did when they flew the planes into those bulidings in New York City.

I figure my coyote rifle will do for other vermin too, a CZ-527-FS .223 with a Leupold VariX II scope. This rifle has never fired a group larger than 15/16" off the bench at 100 yds. It only holds 5 rounds, but they should all hit something.

My home is well armed with an assortment of firearms. I have been trained professionally with these weapons also. Thanks USMC!! :D I practice regularly with rapid fire speed drills with the weapons that I choose to carry. All of that aside, remember that if one of these terrorist strikes ever occured. You would want to keep your weapons hidden from regular view. I think the governments first action would be Martial Law. If I am not mistaken (and I often am):o You do not get to keep your weapons during martial law. I am not possitive of this, but I thought I remember this from somewhere. Not that we would all line up to turn them in, but it would be demanded of the honest citizen I think.
So even if some horrible thing happened far away from you and I. It could have a bad personal effect on all of us on a local level also. Just a thought...

The CZ's are first class quality. A friend just purchased the CZ-527 bolt action carbine in 7.62X39. Extremely cheap to shoot-2500 fps velocity in a .30 cal bullet and accurate to boot, a real fun rifle.Like your .223 a great deer slayer and perfect for brush work. :D

I guess that was the one thing that bothered me from the start of this thread. A man with Spec Ops training and needs 13 strikes to stop an intruder? It does sound a bit rediculous.:) Just to step in front of a home invader sound like inviting death any way.:)

It is late and I for one am not running on all cylinders. Am locking this thread to give everyone a time to sleep on it. No offense intended to you Pappy, we are in agreement. But someone's gotta call for a time out. If Bill wants to unlock these closed threads, he can do so with my blessing.
