My Gods I'm glad I left SoCal when I did!
That was in 1980 when you could still go hunting on the Morongo Rez next too Banning, or at least I could.
You could even go to the old Banning City Dump and shoot ground squirrels, if you could hit the little bastards with an open sight.
We went through Banning in 2002 as best we can recall going up to see Barb's brother in Copperopolis in the middle of the state.
I couldn't believe the change around Banning in just 20+ years!
:barf:
Then we went to a wedding party while we were in Copperopolis and I got aquainted with some of the Commiefornians there.
They of course knew immediately that I wasn't from around there and kept asking me how I liked their state and wasn't the weather wonderful.
I told 'em just exactly how I liked their state and the fact that you couldn't carry a gun legally and the first words out of their mouths were, "Who do you want too shoot?"
It was kinda funny as several of them were gangsta wannabes but they gave me a wide berth after my gun comments.
I didn't confirm whether I was carrying or not.
I was.
To hell with the law when I'm traveling in a strange land!
Also had a couple of khuks under the seat of the car. I did show one interested youngster one of those. Perhaps that made 'em wonder.
