I was just thinking how this review of equipment shouldnt really be made publicly available so easily. Why give our adversaries the benefit of our research?

True. The fact remains that the many of the operators who are most likely to use their pistols choose a .45. That says a lot to me.

What does the phone company have to do with this?

:footinmou

In the military the M11/ Sig Sauer P228 9mm are issued to MPI(Military Police Investigators), CID (Criminal investigatin Division) and protective details for high ranking officers. These are the only people who have access to the M11.

What do you guys make of the Camelbaks the gov't got going belly up but the privately bought ones doing ok? You figure lack of QC on DOD contracts?

Adding my 2 cents to the bad beretta stories

Did anybody see the article a couple of years ago about the cop in texas that pulled his beretta on a perp. who reached out and took the slide off of the gun in one motion leaving the officer snapping away with just the frame?
I know that in Blackhawk Down (the book) soldiers who shot combatants with them said the 9mm was like shooting them with paintballs
I also saw an article where the military was defending the beretta by saying that only 14 soldiers were ever hurt because of slide failure ( the slide blowing apart while firing leaving the frame and slamming into your face)
and nobody had been killed despite the rumors!
I think pistols are not considered a primary weapon for combat.
I am no fan of the 9mm and would hate to have the beretta as a last ditch
survival weapon
