OT: jekyll and Hyde

I only had this happen to one good friend. He felt like a brother but made VERY different choices than I would have when we were not hanging out together. Eventually, we "grew up" in such different directions that all we had in common was a shared friendship of youth.

It feels strange but is all too common.

His "different choices" included theft, moderate-hard drug use - both resulted in jail time. The drug use wasn't an addiction that controlled the other poor choices - just a lifestyle decision for him. When I was the only one at "risk" during the time we got together, it was worth it to try and influence some good behavior in him. Once I had a family, I refused to let them assume that same risk and the connection was severed.

I hope he is ok now but odds are he is not. :(

One turns to drugs. Another turns to INFI. Both hopelessly addicted, both out-of-control. :p

bro, i had a friend from grammar school, had a bit of a hard life, but was always a good solid dude, a good friend. we were pretty close, he was prolly my best friend.
until his girlfriend's brother(another of my old friends) called and told me the scumbag had molested his girlfriend's 11 yr old daughter.
sometimes you never know. no matter, it is NOT your fault.

TL, Personality disorders are common and incurable. All you can do is move on. And most importantly to have ....No regrets

Works for me. :D

Thanks for sharing HOGS. It looks like this sort of thin is more common that I had predicted.

Yesss...

Happened to me twice. One of them is now resting in a grave not far from my father's and my grandfather's.

You never really know what's going on in another person's head. And it is most certainly not YOUR responsibility. We all just do the best we can.

I still mourn them both. :o
