OT - kittens in our closet

Rusty, all I can say is lucky you. My various cats have given me more joy, peace and sense of awe than I could begin to describe. One of god's better gifts.

Congratulations, Rusty!

Brace yourself for when you have to give the kittens away. More often than not, those are the times when you find yourself serving both the queen and the princesses and princes she bore for your worship.

Yvsa,

That's right on! My dad has really bad allergies and our cats can never get enough of his company. When my folks come over, the kitties nuzzle him until he's wheezing and franticly digging for psuedoephedrine.

The one Hollow liked...you can tell that she just can't get comfortable...

Nasty, our newest "rescue, "Max," sleeps on his back too --- when he's not just flooooped on his side. I thought cats were inherenty too nervious to expose their bellies that way, but here are two examples of cats that know how to really relax. We should learn.

Nice stuff, Rusty. I'm partial to calicos.
I have this nice calico....

:D

He's 16 lbs. - hefty lil' guy. Can knock the wind out of ya when he jumps in your lap.

FTF does that too. Figure that she has to have killed her conscience to sleep so peacefully.

Later addendum:

Old Joe had a yellow cat
She neither sang nor prayed
She dipped herself in the buttermilk jar
And washed her sins away.

Faretheewell Old Joe Clark....

edit to correct typo

The stand-offish cat Tom mentioned:

BTW, I still haven't gotten a good trade offer for her, even though she travels well and is box trained! ;)

So there is a connection between Khukuri ownership and having cats in the house? I never had a cat as a pet until I brought khukuris into the house .

Edit-He's still waking me up at 4:30 am.

Terr- I hate to disprove your theory, but I didn't get my first Khuk until after the cat was gone. And, now that I have Khukuris, there are also dogs, chipmunks, sugar gliders, snakes, turtles and tortoises in the house. (And a lot of ants-but they weren't invited.)

Be happy. Ants attack termites, and they don't eat all that much. :D

The little guy got hit by TWO cars, miraculously escaped injury (not a broken bone on him) and is now coming up on a year old. Maybe the nicest cat I've ever had. I love my Guinevere but she's...um...a special needs cat (a buddy once said "Dude, that is not a domestic animal"). But Timmorn is sweet as can be. If I say "Floof" he answers "meee?". He does what the Mrs. and I call the Timmorn Flop when he wants his belly rubbed. I always thought of myself as a dog person but it might be closer to 50/50. Congrats on the cat, I'm sure she'll bring much joy into your lives.

Frank

P.S. Anyone ever read a book called The Silent Meow (I think meow was spelled funny, though)? Forget the author but it's told from a cat's point of view, very funny stuff.
