OT: latest hike -- bitten by a diseased tick

for whatever its worth, i took one of 18" ang khola's karda down to 21 degrees and it works pretty good now... of course, it took the entire main grind down about 3 degree's, making it a zero ground puuko style edge, but i like it :D:D

definitely good luck and best wishes... i remember using the ticks we would get off the dogs as target practice with our bb guns when i lived on the ranch... fun and scary at the same time (you never knew where they would jump if you missed)

Cog,
Hope that you are feeling better. It sounds like you had a real bad reaction to the tick bite. A couple of years ago my lady was bitten by a tick right between the toes. I had a hard time getting it off of her and it finally ended up broken off. She got horribly infected. Her toe area was swelling and blistering within hours. Before 24 hours the foot was hugely swollen and discolored with the RED stripe headed up her leg. We had her to the Doc real quick. With extensive antibiotic treatments she got better, but it was scary! We have lots of tick problems up here. Especially in the wet warm spring time season. It has become a sad part of life up these past years. Part of enjoying the woods nowadays I guess. :(

Hope all turns out well for you Cog!!

Thanks all. I am much better. I actually worked out yesterday. Antibiotics are miracles. The swelling is down. Your smoke works, that is for sure.

And to top it off, when I got home, my wife told me she has some work for my kkukuris outside!

Does it get any better?
