The "free range eggs" (oxymoron?) are definately better--surely worth the extra $ if one's making an egg dish as opposed to tossing one into a batter or something. And the yolks have better color. I don't think that it's even possible to buy a real stewing chicken nowadays.
Can't bring myself to buy farm trout--it just reminds me that I ain't eating a real trout. The farm salmon for whatever reason still bears a resemblance to the real thing, unlike a lot of newly farmed stuff.
Once I forked over the $$ for some "domesticated" chantrell mushrooms for a special occasion. One of the biggests wastes of money of my life. Looked the same as wild, tasted like nothing.:grumpy:
And I've learned that usually the smaller and uglier oranges and other citrus fruit are, the tastier.
Don't even get me started on real smoked bacon, chops, and sausages...if you can find it, they cost as much or more as a prime steak it seems
