Yvsa said:Bruise I went searching Google for you but didn't find what I was looking for.My walking stick is made from a heavy Oklahoma River Cane and is also an ndn Flute and is plenty strong.
I've put all my weight on it when I was 30-40 pounds lighter but wouldn't these days.![]()
If you can find a walking stick made from Calcutta Cane it would probably never break!!!! Calcutta cane has been used for deep sea fishing poles for a good number of years and has stood up very well.
All I could find was a place where you had to order several poles in order to buy them instead of just one.
If you're walking in the woods a steel point is nice to have on your walking stick but if used around town a rubber tip is best as it keeps from sliding on slick surfaces.
Some of the steel tipped poles have a rubber sleeve that can be put over the point for the best of both worlds.![]()
