OT -- military pay

I saw the Nightline piece. Kopple wasn't there. Always like him. First time we've had one of the major three broadcast networks available in our home for over ten years. I ordered abc on satellite so i could get the Superbowl. I've watched nightly news a few times to see if it is still the unbrideled propaganda it used to be. Yes. Something goes wrong with the War on Iraq and they'll climb over themselves to tell us, "told you so." I see Bush is not their favorite President. I see they report poll results in interesting fashion. These eyes have seen too much.

How could it be hoped that it would be otherwise?

Half of the clowns that purport to now be unbiased suppliers of factual information were previously employed as public liasons or media agents for various politicans and administrations, dishing up, well, propaganda.

I recently saw one, I think it was Bill Moyers, proudly relate that he had worked for LBJ crafting what were, stripping his euphamisms aside, lies of omission. This he explained, uniquely qualified him to deduce what lies of omission occurred in Bush's recent speech, and to accurately report them to others.

Spare me.

What other product/service is claimed to be best provided by those who boast of deceptively/fraudulently providing it in the past???

Lawyers.

Did you ever hear O'Reilly on Moyer's connections to various left political groups and the merry-go round of funds between them all?

Moyer is pissed at Bill. Now, I like Bill, but he's a block head on some things. A good blockhead though, and I think he has Jesse's and Moyer's numbers down pat.

:D

Some may come close, but not quite in the same league IMO.

Some lawyers admit to doing whatever they can get away with behalf of those who are paying them (and hence themselves). For some, this is the basis of their reputation, and they are sought out. (Some financial lawyers abbet fraud, and get additional business from others seeking similar services, but they rarely claim to work for the benefit of me, but for the benefit of those who are their employers/clients.)

NONE of the high profile journalists admit this as far as I know. They vociferously claim just the opposite--to provide totally accurate and balanced information regardless of the cost to themnselves and their employers, and attempt to base their reputation upon that claim.

Nice try though....
