Thanks all for the prayers for my daughter, Kayla. Here's what happened.
I started telling her about the test on Saturday, she remembered it from last year and wasn't that excited to hear it was coming again. She tried to talk her way out of it, and she is a pretty good negotiator to be 4 years old.
Talking to her about it helped a lot in dealing with the actual test.

There is good news and so-so news. The good news is that the test itself wasn't as bad on her as in the past. She didn't scream as bad, she kept calling to me, "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy" over and over, which darn near killed me. Once the tube was in place, she seemed to do OK, lots of tears but not as much screaming as past times.

The test results showed that her condition is the same as last year, no better and no worse. She still has a chance of growing out of it, but we have to go through another year of medication and test again next year.
It's hard to understand why these things happen. I have no idea.

I believe that although she hasn't healed yet, that the prayers from everyone helped to reduce her pain and suffering through the test. It was a big difference from last two or three years.

After that, I took her to her very favorite restaurant, Cracker Barrel, where my little four year old girl ate an adult Chicken n' dumplings, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and fried apples. All by her little self.
A trip to the toy store after that, and tonight she is in grandma's hands.

I'm emotionally depleted for the day, at the same time I feel so much love from her that I feel full.

Sorry for rambling, I felt moved by the response when I posted about her last week, and I wanted to share. Thank you all so much.

BTW- On a lighter side, I got this new Naval Jelly cleaner that I've been chompin at the bits to try on my tarwar and khuk's, been in my truck for two weeks and I hadn't had five minutes to try it out. Maybe now that this is over, I will and can give a field report..

Glad to hear things went a little better for you. Like I said before I've got a 4 year old daughter--there's nothing more precious in all the world--it just kills me to picture what you've gone through with that test.

Continued prayers for your little girl. The best we can do is give them lots of love and try our best I guess. But to be honest the worrying about their health and safety is sometimes overwhelming.

My littlest daughter went to the ER tonight...see other thread. But she seems to be fine thank God. Really made me stop and wonder how I had been so irritated with her crying earlier on--what's wrong with me that any of that meaningless crap bothers me? All it takes is one trip to the hospital to remind me how beautiful they both are, and how much I tend to take them for granted.

Sorry, its been a rough couple of hours tonight...

Smoke going up.

( I have to get the wife out of the house tomorrow so I can use the naval jelly on my new Cherokee Rose. )

I can only imagine your anguish. I am almost afraid that I will indeed be blessed
with children one day.

Sorry to hear about your daughter, Lion's Roar... You might want to get her on a good nutritional program. I've seen countless health problems in adults and children rectified with sensible nutrition. :)

Glad u had a "status quo". I know what is, seeing your child having pain, it almost hurts u more just by knowing that she has pain and u can't do anyting about it.
Hey just send another little one up to the old boss. Couldn't hurt right :)

Lion's Roar, I'm glad to hear the semi-good news.
Was there anything the doctors gave her to ease the procedure?

I don't have kids, don't want kids or even really like 'em. But it lights up my heart to know that people like you ,who truly want and love kids, have them.
I hope she quickly out grows her problem and these tests fade to a distant and foggy memory. Children shouldn't have to deal with these kind of problems. Their biggest problem should be deciding whether to have Count Chocula or Boo Berry cereal for breakfast.

Prayers to you and your little darling.

Reading this brought back memories of my little girl. I almost lost her when she was 2. She caught spinal meningitis and had a rough time of it for awhile.

but with gods help, she came through fine.
She's now a happy healthy 25 and loving life.

Your baby will be the same I know. With a full happy life ahead of her.

All my best to you.

I don't think I could eat that much anymore.

When a kid eats like that they're like lions and they don't eat again for a couple days...

Nothing wrong with the Cracker Barrel- good food.

Glad to hear things are at least stable, LR. Prayers and well wishes for both you and Rob.

Thanks everyone!

Things seem to be back to normal in our household now. Thanks for all the smoke.
