OT: Neighbourhood Cats

Domestic dog packs on the Kingsbury ( Nevada ) side of the the Lake used to be a problem for deer.

One of my old bosses thirty years back when I worked the vault in the Casino lived in Gardnerville and drove up to Tahoe every morning. Up near the top he'd spot them often near sunup as they were heading back home. They didn't make it home if he could help it.

Hey, I like dogs and cats. My wife is just allergic to their dander. And I guess I'm allergic to pet owners that don't care for their pets properly.

Had a problem with a cat. I set a havahart type trap. Got him. Then I set him in the middle of my yard and hosed him for quite a while. He yowled pretty loud! I kicked the trap a few times to really shake him up then hosed him somemore as i turned him loose at the fence line. Haven't seen him near my property since.

I think that would be the best - shake em up real good. Doesn't cause any real damage and they remember not to come back. I saw the ginger this morning but he scrammed as soon as he clocked me. The big black I had to hiss at....

They were probably waiting for me to leave for work - why won't they just go away !!

CIGAR BUTTS SCATTERED ARUOND!

Brilliant!! What else have I seen suggested various places? Coffee grounds, citrus peels....

I get it...The idea is to get the cat to think that the yard is a big rubbish bin. But he ought to stay away because its regularly visited by a big scary beast that eats all the good stuff.

apparently you can get fake cats with glow in the dark eyes !!
Only trouble is that they may scare the birds - will have to find out.

;)

I like the concept of trapping it and then mercilessly squirting/shaking the thing before releasing it. Not only would it keep the cat away, but it would be intensely satisfying to do for one who's been having trouble with cats.

I found the most legend picture if anyone would care to post it for me ..

mental note - must get porper membership !!
