The kids are jonesin' for a Wii.

And I'm halfway tempted to get one.

If I do....what games are best for the lil guys? (aged 5 & 7)

Thanks!

Dan

Wii Sports (which comes with the Wii) is fantastic. You'll spend hours playing it.

The younger ones also like Super Mario Galaxy and Super Paper Mario.

:Go for it , they'll love it. My nephew got one at Christmas...... and I even love it.......:D

Get raving rabbids. or raving rabbids 2.

Crazy fun.

I got kids in that range and they love it.

my three middle kids are 4, 6 and 8.

Mario Party 8 is a super game and one of their best sellers. Very fun for the whole family. Its like a board game with a bunch of little mini games each turn. Extremely fun I have the all of the mario party games. The sports game that comes with the system is fantastic as well. I just picked up a game called Smarty pants that is fun, it kind of like jeopardy. The neat thing about it is that you set the age of the contestants so the questions can be age appropriate another good one for the whole family.

MOst of the wii games are kid and family friendly. Mario Galaxy is super fun with a completely unique style of gameplay. The sports game that comes with the wii is really fun too. More games than ever will be coming out this year too.

Another vote for Wii Sports.

Elebits is also a neat game for kids. Easy to play and learn, however it would be more for the 7 year old.

I agree with the WII Sports. My son (10 years old) and I love it! He was never interested in "video" games even though he got a GameBoy as a gift some time ago from a relative. He's just a Lego, building, drawing kind of guy when it comes to "inside entertainment". The WII Sports gets Dad involved. I even work up a sweat. In fact, I read somewhere that WII Tennis burns 50% of the calories of a standard doubles tennis game! Good bonding and lots of fun for everyone. Go for it.

I bought my girlfriend one for Christmas and she loves it. mario galaxy and big brain Academy

I like Link's crossbow game. It comes with a doodad that you put the controler in to make it a gun then walla you have a gun and you shoot stuff. My dad plays tennis on the wii sports all the time.

Mario Galaxy is freakin sweet. Super Smash Bros will be coming out soon and they is a must-have as well.

Cool.....

My boys love sports - oldest is a "natural" at anything. This is what I am wanting to hear.

It all sounded way too cliche at first. And, to be honest, if the Wii ever overtakes outdoor sporting activities, it'll be tossed.

But, it looks like this may be the ticket to having a little video game fun, without becoming a vegged-out couch-tater. :barf:

Not to mention...great for rainy days too.

Yes, my kids will pick up books on their own and read...but they also run the full length of the house and destroy everything in the path of their cape/sword/stick/telescope/etc. :D

Wii's are great.
The sports pac that comes with it is a lot of fun. Baseball, tennis, golf, bowling and boxing.

By the way if you're going for an overhand smash...make sure you're not under the ceiling fan.:o

A lot of retirement communities are getting them. Great physical work out for them without the impact.

Hey Dan, My aunt bought the kids the Wii for Christmas. Ages are 10, 7, and 2. THey have racked up about 5 games in the past 6 weeks. But the one that gets played 90% of the time is Lego Star Wars, The Complete Saga. My son is the 7 year old (he is a lego fanatic) and loves the game - he is able to play it pretty well (better then me) my daughter 10 - she was never a gamer - but loves to play this one. Check it out - lots of levels - 160 - lots of fun. And they are all lego characters - no blood - they just fall apart like lego's when the die :)

Good Luck - John.

Thanks, guys!

John - a friend of my oldest has that exact game - and that is the #1 cause for the extended begging and pleading... :foot:

:D

I have a wii. Me and the wife have a great time playing when its to late to fire up the equipment. Video games have shown to increase problem solving skills since you usually have to try multiple aproaches and unconventional tactics to overcome boss challenges and new levels. When my boy gets old enough I will buy him whatever is out then. I think the key is to limit the time spent playing. Everything in moderation, yada yada. Dang, I just became my Dad.
