I think I'm going to pull the trigger on this one...then keep it around and have the kids do chores to "earn it".

You can also get them copies of WiiPlay (which is a collection of 9 multiplayer minigames. You'll like the pool game, and the kids will like the fishing, cow race, air hockey, and maybe even others) and Excite Truck (an off-road game which is easy to play, but has enough depth to keep the kids playing for awhile.
A lot of the other suggestions are great as well. Honestly, most of what is made for the Wii is great for kids AND families. Just check the ratings on the boxes (check this: http://www.esrb.org/index-js.jsp) and look for reviews on www.gamespot.com. It's also a good idea to rent first and see what you think.
