ot, sorry, but have you seen this?

With all due respect to the many esteemed members of BF, I have to admit that I am surprised by the condescending and ridiculing nature of most of posts regarding the new guys offerings. If he had posted his wares in the Busse or some other inappropriate forum, I would not find much fault in such banter. However, his post is in an appropriate forum, is straight forward and seems sincere- albeit a tad optimistic.

One person's tastes is a merely a preference. A preference is derived from personal experience, inherent personality differences, and economic conditions. It is these very different preferences that allows a market, say a knife exchange for example, to function efficiently over the long haul.

Are the fantasy knives my cup of tea? No. Perhaps when I was a teen they would have held some interest for me. Does he deserve to be snickered at like bunch school children evaluating the "new kid"? I think not.

Should he prove himself to be self promoting shyster, then that is something else. Until then, how about a little more respect until he finds his BF sea legs?

JMHO

Note: I normally do not inject myself into such issues or in this case, perhaps create the issue. I actually almost deleted this post twice before sending it. Then I asked my self why was I afraid to post it. The answer was that I did not want to find myself on the receiving end of others' scrutiny or ridicule. The irony was just too much...

point taken, but i still think that thread is funny. like you said, to each his own. my sense of humor is clearly different than yours.

Actually Morimotom, my sense of humor is likely not to different from yours.

Did you hear the one about the 3 guys wearing 6XXL Busse Combat T shirts, the cop and the donut shop??? Or was it three donuts, a cop and 6XXL Busse T shirt....

crap, your right- my sense of humor sucks!!! ;)

loco,

he should have looked at what was there before just throwing those in there. he would likely have seen little that matched his offerings. that aside, no one is safe on the forums, anywhere.

everyone has been jumped on, so to speak, and thin skin only makes things worse. like the lions to the sheep, or the wolves, or whatever.

i hovered quite a while before i started posting extensively. and still had to watch what i said.

its public, more or less, and he seems not able to read between the lines.

so, here i am, to have a little fun.

Yeah... I'm pretty scared of you guys. I venture to the political forums sometimes and post with great fear :) As a new guy, I have to say that like Morimotom did back in his younger days, I hovered a lot and read hundreds of posts before I ever said anything, and was careful when I did. I came to BF thinking that CS was one of the "greatest" production knife makers out there - and here I am now w/ Rats and Rangers and aspirations of a Busse - this guy clearly didn't do any homework before he started trying to pedal his wares. This isn't exactly Ebay. I've learned a lot from the guys here, because I "came" to blade forums to learn about knives and have some intillectual debate on occaision regarding non-knife related issues... but this guy cracks me up! - Again, I am a newbie, but thats where I stand on the "newbie" issue.

diceman, or should i call you andrew clay? :)

gotta say, newbie or not, you have been a welcome addition to the busse forum. i know how that sounds but no sarcasm intended.

lets all hug.

diceman, or should i call you andrew clay? :)

Yeah, I got that nickname back when I first went to college - because I wore a leather jacket, smoked like a fiend, and cussed a lot! It was the first thing that came to mind when I had to pick a handle for BF. Thanks for the welcome!

I understand your point, but when you look at that thing, how can you possibly keep a straight face? I mean really man. I think back to that home shopping network where the guy was selling "Custom Katanas". He started hitting the table with the blade, it broke off and stabbed the guy in the ribs. Now this may not be funny to some people, but I find it hilarious. The guy fell to the ground saying: "Oh God! It Got me! OOH. Im hit" Im laughing so hard now I can barely type. Come to think of it, I wonder if that skull knife comes with a hip sheath? I could carry one on each side, to defend myself against an attack. I wouldnt have to worry about going to jail for cutting anyone, because once I did my ninja moves and un-sheathed those bad boys, the criminal would starting laughing so hard he wouldnt be able to attack me! Im LMAO right now! LOL!!!:D

And as far as making fun of him because he was a new guy, I didnt notice his post # until you pointed it out. Wanna know why I didnt notice his post # to know that he was a new guy? Because after I saw that knife, I couldnt stop laughing enough to see anything else. My bad.:p

I can't stop laughing!!! But seriously I would part with my 6XXL Busse t-shirt in a hot minute for one of those ninja-esque jems any day of the week!

Fun is fine. No problems with any of it, especially if it is at my expense, just say it to my face.

Reminded me of those sitcoms where everybody is talking about some guy and he is right there and says.... "Ummm, you guys know I can hear you right?"

That owl knife is Frickin hilarious also. Bu-Bo. Bu-Bo. click-click-click. LOL!Great movie also. They should have went to Jerry to make the swords and shields. INFI swords and INFI shields with a mirror polish on the inside. I can see myself now, running around in skin tight leather shorts and sandals with my gold metal owl, in the desert, looking for pegasus. That would be awesome! Totally.:D

And if you want to see harsh, you should see what other members are saying on that thread under the guys post. That poor guy is surrounded by sharks. Think: The JAWS theme music. :D

I can empathize with Antiqueweapons.org to the point of embarassment. I still almost pissed myself laughing at those "knives".
