Well, 25 is kind of a kid to me.
Stumbled across the epic in a forum search. Not much text, but great pictures. He used a bivy tent, cooked off-road, and travelled from NC to FL to CA, back to NYC and then NC! 18,000 miles total.
At the end, the forum raffled off his scooter and he donated the money to Make-A-Wish foundation. Neat, all around.
edit from a post describing journey:
This is the true adventure of Wan. A South Korean guy, 25 years old, who worked and saved money for one year. He then came to America, bought a 50cc Honda Ruckus scooter, and traveled from North Carolina, to Florida, across America to California, up the coast to Seattle and is now making his way across the northern part of the US and down on in to Colorado as we speak (about 13,000 miles since late Oct. '07). Before you erase this email, I suggest checking out his story. This man is truly amazing and absolutely hilarious and the stories of his adventures are right up your alley... this scooter, unregistered and loaded with all of his equipment doesn't do more than 40 mph so he's been pulled over countless times and each time he talks his way out of trouble and ends up getting pictures with the police officers. His photography skills are amazing, you'll see America in a way you never have before. And the best part about this is how it's brought the best
out in Americans. Complete strangers of all race and class distinctions who know nothing about him selflessly helping him out along the way.
Even if this isn't something you want to feature, I suggest visiting TOTALRUCKUS.COM, the website where he has documented this epic voyage, and reading about his adventures for your own entertainment.
