OT Stuck in traffic for 4 hours...

I was stuck in traffic for 4 hours today. I got to watch wonderful folks drive on the shoulder to get ahead.

What do you folks do to entertain yourselves during such times?

I figure I should at least carry one empty water bottle in the car. :( I thought to myself "maybe I can use my empty lunch container." :barf:

How much is a used helicopter?
 
Last I looked you can pick up a pretty good helicopter for about $300,000. Nothing fancy, mind you. :)
 
I have an MP3 player with about three weeks solid worth of music. Great for long road trips, expected or not. :D

:( I just knew I worded that a little too loosely.

It wasn't a matter of when someone said something. I just wondered who it was gonna be. I shoulda figured. :p
 
Get a 1 liter Gatorade bottle, it has a wide mouth. Drink all the contense then do your business... I just hope you drive a SUV, cause if you drive a short car, and a larger one decides to pass you... lets just say it quickly becomes not such a good situation.
 
welll, the folks out west invented this game with cars and guns and traffic jams. Sounds dangerous to me.

Where I live, you look both ways before crossing main street. If there's a car within 3 blocks either way, you wait til they've passed.

But then again, that's only at the rueh hour, or Sundays between noon and one pm, depending on which church lets out. Then the rush is to get to the casino coffee shop before you have to sit with one of the other churches.

Fortunately the Baptist preachers are long winded and the other churches are starting to leave by the time the Baptists get there.
 
hee hee. I was thinking it was called "LA Roadrage" but GTA is therapeutic after hours of traffic...

When I was a kid, if the preacher got to be too long with his sermon, people would start looking at their watches. It was Important to beat the Baptists to Luby's for lunch. (For non-Texans, Luby's is a chain of cafeterias that serve a wide variety of suprisingly good food for a low price.)
 
Baptists aren't the only long winded ones. Can't see much spiritual about timed, totally scripted sermons either. Having a clock on the rear wall also seems to make a mockery out of it. But then thats me. Plenty of people like to be on time, especially when it comes to eating (getting there first). Don't have to worry about getting stuck in traffic on the roads but spend an inordinate amount of time sitting on trains waiting to get into the yard. Have been stuck in traffic in places like Los Angeles, Oh Boy thats fun.:barf:
 
I'm glad I don't have to go through traffic jams any more.

Happened to me once. Got stuck on I40 at 3 in the morning. Jumped on freeway after closing the Lounge/Pkg store. I guess I was tired. Wondering what all the traffic was about. Flipped on my CB and 'ouch' had gone too far to jump off the only exit available. A big accident and fire and closed the freeway. FROM THAN ON, first thing I did was flip the CB on to check the road conditions. Took them 4 hours to open up the road.

Bruise, when fighter pilots make long over the water flights, they use a piece of gear known as a "piddle pack". This is conveniently connected by means of a rig known as a "condom catheter". You can get duct tape and plastic tubing from your local hardware store. You're on your own for the rest.:p :D
