My 18 year old son, his wife and sister-in-law just called me. They were driving straight through from Washington to Port Huron, Michigan (his new USCG post), and at 3 a.m. this morning, outside Missoula, Montana, an 18 wheeler ran them off the highway as my son went to pass. Their vehicle, an 06 Xterra, flipped several times and a door was torn off as the sister-in-law was thrown from her seat belt. They are checked out physically alright from the hospital in Missoula, but extremely shook up. The Insurance and Trucking Co. are going to take care of them and they are going to try the train for the rest of the trip. Just had to vent and ask for Prayers and Good Thoughts for my kids.

I hope it was alright to post this here, since this is where I hang out most of the time.

Thanks, Mike

Holy cow! I'm glad to hear that your kids are ok!

Mike....our thoughts and prayers will be with you and yours. It could have been much worse considering the circumstances.

Take care,
-Ed

Wow and they came out physically okay? That sounds like a miracle Mike. My thoughts will definitely be with them and I hope the rest their journey is a safe and peaceful one.

Glad they're okay. Train sounds like a good idea.

Thoughts sent their way.

Wow - sounds like everyone was very - very lucky! Not a story that too many get to relay after the event.

Hope all check out fine and that they are home to you soon.

Glad to hear they are ok! Was the truck maneuver intentional or did it just drift over?

I am glad to hear that things were not worse. We'll be sure and say a prayer for them.

And please thank your son for me, for his service to our country.
