OT: What are you reading these days?

It'll probably be a while before I have time for reading other than schoolwork, but I recently bought LIFE WITH ROSS / THE YEARS WITH ROSS, by one of my literary heroes, James Thurber.

Fascinating read about how some civilizations evolved faster than others and then imposed their might on less advanced ones. A great read.

Cook's is my favorite, followed closely by Taunton's "Fine Cooking".

Starting reading "The Boats of the 'Glen Carrig'", William Hope Hodgson. Slightly Lovecraftian nautical stories. Old. Good stuff. Read "House on the Borderland" a while ago.

Wow! Talk about a blast from the past! Not too many people know about William Hope Hodgson. An influence on both H.P. Lovecraft and August Derleth. My Dad was a collector, and I was lucky enough to get a first edition of Hodgsons works published in the 40's through Arkham House. I also have a 1st ed. of his original works published in 1907. First read it when I was 12 or 13 and SCARED THE LIVING S*#T out of me! Great, great stuff. If you haven't read them yet, also try "The Nightland" and "The Ghost Pirates", but I think "Glen Carrig" is my favorite.

Thanks for the reminder!

Regards,

Norm

Right now I'm struggling with "Build your own Plutonium Enricher and save$$$"
I just cant read the damn book, theres so many pictures and diagrams it interrupts the flow of the authors' style.
