Second try: What centerfire rifle ammo have you seen for sale the most at "fair" prices the last 6 months like at Wal-Mart, Dick's, Cabela's, etc.? (I am talking about cheaper stuff like Federal Powershok, Remington Core lokt, etc. Not premium bullets that have been on the shelves at high prices this whole time.)

1. .30-06
2. .270
3. .308
4. .30-30
5. .243
6. Other

Most of the times I have been to Wal-Mart there have been .243 and .270 (I have neither.) I have always leaned more toward more common calibers and a friend laughs at me because he has found ammo for .300 Win Short Mag this entire time. Curious to see if .270 and .243 have been available in other states or whether Ohio which can't use rifles for deer hunting is just different. Thanks

40 S&W seems to be making a comeback - and holding - in the Portland, Oregon metro area. And there are no longer lines of frantic buyers on "ammo delivery day!" Cheers

Sorry, forget to put in the title "rifle" ammo. Thanks though.

.223 or 5.56 - different yes, but in the eyes of the masses the same. Everyone with a spare ammor or an AR was trying to make a profit.

270 all day long here in Indiana, probably for the same reason as Ohio, we can't deer hunt with it.

Odd ball calibers are about the only thing you can find in our neck of Ohio. Everything else evaporates.

Tons of 30-06 in all makes and configurations. Pretty antiquated load by todays standards but if you have a rifle that shoots it you will never run out of available ammo, atleast around here.

.270 Win, the various WSM's, and, oddly, the .338 WinMag!
Probably will change once deer season hits.
5.56, .223, and even .308 are coming back to the shelves... but .22 is still a challenge to find.

Whoops, I voted for the one I HAVEN'T seen the most.(308) I'm a moron.
30-06 is the most I've seen here.

I just see endless .270. Even when all the other ammo is gone, there are boxes and boxes of .270 left.

My Browning A-bolt .270 has served me well. Put a lot of meat in the freezer:D.....and no shortage of ammo:thumbup:
