anyone know where i can find an auto that has two seperate blades that come out the front and the back ? you know, kind of like that double-bladed light sabre in the new star wars film.

I haven't heard of such a thing being made commercially. I'm not sure I'd want to be the liability insurer for a company that did. It sounds like a project for a mechanically clever custom maker, and probably fairly expensive, and of course hopelessly politically incorrect.

I know they're not OTF, but have you looked at the Tenmil autos such as the ones pictured (but, alas, not for sale) at the Triple Aught Design site? They're side openers with a gravity pick on the other end. I think I recall seeing one for sale in the forums the other day. Quite probably designed for use by really fast carpenters...
