OTF shipped to Hawaii???

I lived on the Big Island for 6 years until relocatinng back to the Pittsburgh, PA area. I was very worried about owning auto knives there but still had a Spyderco Automomous, which I used as a Dive knife at work. I never had any issues but it did concern me. I ordered it and had it sent to me there, but I don't remember who I bought it from. I am a bit relieved to be here in Pennsylvania in regard to knives and firearms. The Police there take auto knives pretty seriously so I do not think you should risk it. There have been some pretty bad court prosecutions there with regards to knives.

Gun laws are getting better. A lot of people are pursuing concealed carry permits due to new legislation.

The magazine limits are still in place though.

OTF and butterfly knives are a misdemeanor, which is a bummer.

But all other knives are legal to own and carry.
Unfortuneately it is not really the case that all other knives are legal to own and carry. this is part of the law:

Hawaii “Deadly Weapons” law, § 134-51, as it pertains to knives, provides:

Any person, not authorized by law, who carries concealed upon the person’s self or within any vehicle used or occupied by the person or who is found armed with any dirk, dagger, . . . or other deadly or dangerous weapon shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and may be immediately arrested without warrant by any sheriff, police officer, or other officer or person.

And they do not differentiate for open carry. There have been people prosecuted for carrying even a dive knife.
