Jay, the bottom two have a really nice blade profile. The handles look awkward. I've had great experience with the old CS carbon V LTC. It had a fat belly, but was only 1/8" thick. This makes it more machete to me. I never tried the old ATC. I believe it had the same shape with a thicker spine. I have a CS SK 5 Gurkha, but haven't put the chop on anything yet with it. I'm all for modern production method KLOs. They'll never have the style and romance of a traditional khuk, but the design is so useful it should be explored as much as possible. The Becker Reinhardt (sp?) and Busse look very cool, but neither seems to have much belly. I'd like to read some reviews of the Busse and Becker. They seem to be shelf queens due to rarity. I also notice this lack of belly with the modern CS KLOs, except the machete versions, which are similiar to the old LTC. It's funny, if you surf the web for a while, you find the lowly old LTC seems to have reached cult status. The newer designs all seem to be more pointy and martial in nature. They look great, but I think the deep belly makes it a better chopper. I'd love to see ESEE or Becker make a modern version along the lines of the LTC with quality steel and micarta handles. They wouldn't replace my real (HI) khuks, but would be really cool. Jay, I'd like to know what you think about the Mini. CS had several variations on their KLO in the past. It's unfortunate CS has limited their stable so much. CS brought many folks into the khuk world with their KLOs. Take care.
