Other Than Hinderer, What Else Do You Collect?

On the topic of watches, I always like to see what people have owned, will never sell, should have never sold, and what you want.

Watch I should have never sold: 5513 Submariner
Watch I will never sell: 1665 Seadweller
Coolest one have ever owned: AP ROO
Want to own: Glashutte Sentor Sixties

Seems as though knives and watches are a common thread - I think folks just appreciate the intricacies of finely crafted machines instead of today's throw it away when the battery dies mentality. Things used to be built to last generations.

As a kid, I collected baseball cards, which are all about worthless now.
I had a nice collection of RC cars at one time, and that hobby is a money pit, especially if you like modding.
I sold a RC car for a couple complete series of Garbage Pail Kids, which brought back memories so I hunted down the series I didn't have. Funny thing, they are worth more than all my baseball cards.
I used to collect 1:18 die-cast cars until my shelves filled up. Then I collected Hot Wheels until my wall hanger filled (~55 cars), but I check them out when I am at a store with them, and buy if there is a car I really like.

BTW, where are all the pics? ;)

Garbage pail kids! I forgot all about those. I used to love those. I still have a book full of them somewhere. I need to dig those out and see what they are worth

Oh boy. I've been a collector of one thing or another most of my life.

Trading cards (mostly Batman)
Batman watches
Action figure (sports and comic book characters)
Die cast cars
Comic books
Music CDs and DVDs
Guns
Electric guitars
Knives

Cigars - I seem to accumulate them faster than I smok'em.. As kind of an odd corollary to that I happen to have every issue of Cigar Aficionado magazine..

Batman trading cards from 1989? I got a bunch of those!

Watches, modern wristwatches and antique pocket watches

Knives, Other than Hinderer: Randall, CRK, Strider, Bark River, microtech

Titanium Flashlights, mainly McGizmo

Guns: 1911's, HK, and old military rifles and pistols

Guitars, electric and hand-made acoustic

Motorcycles, Ducati

That is it, I can't afford any more!

What I have seen so far is that Hinderer owners have very discriminating tastes and appreciation for the finer things in life!
I bet the "Most interesting man in the world" collection would also include Hinderer Knives. It is said he speaks all the languages of the world plus three of his own.

Pool cues. My collection has been reduced over the last few years but I have 5 more due before March 2014. Here are a few from Dennis Searing that will never be sold. He only makes about 4-5 cues per year.

He engraved the weight bolt with my initials. If you notice in the center, it is threaded to accept a screw on rubber bumper. Very cool.

Chris...... Nowwww I get it. :D When you first told me about the pool cue thing I was like, what??? Those things are beautiful! Very kewl!

Beautiful! I have only owned a handful of Meucci over the years, but a quality pool cue is like a quality shotgun...once you pick one up, it all makes sense! Beauty and balance in perfect harmony...

Chris. Those pool cues are gorgeous. As a woodworker myself i can really appreciate the craftsmanship and fine detail. Just gorgeous buddy. :)

I'd hate to pick up a nice cue only to find out I'm still terrible at pool. At least with a bad one I have an excuse!
