Okay, we all like (love?) our Spydies, I'm interested in what other types of knives interest Spyderco fans. My personal favourites are; Swiss Army knives, three blade Stockman, and Opinels.
I like tactical knives. Emerson CQC7's, Microtech LCC's(I guess these are tac's?), MOD's...although I usually carry a utility blade for work. The Military is my fav EDC for that. When not working I carry something black, sleek, and sharp. I also like automatics and have a variety of leverlocks, stilletto's, and a Mikov.
I mostly stick to Spydercos, although I do own some SAKs, Cold Steel, CRKT and Benchmade knives. Spydercos appeal to me visually more than just about any other brand, and they always perform great. I really think that I could be perfectly content with only buying Spydercos.
Though I am a dedicated Spyderco fan, I also have non-spydies. A Kershaw Chive, a DeltaZ proto and a CRKT Rollock. Mostly because I like to examine their special features (like Ken Onion's assisted opening, or the rollock).
Spyderco seems to fit almost all of my single knife needs (although if I had the money I might pick up some CRK's or Scott Cook's). SAK and Leatherman for multi-knives.
BenchMades with Axis Locks, Bowies of most varieties, and swords of Western design, not Oriental, especially Ancient and Migration Era up through the Viking Era.
I actually like CRKT, only wish they have a better heat treat. Their M16/M18 series is sweet. That's to be expected from Kit Carson Oh the Rollock is also nice, and I've given that away as a b-day present.
I like a couple of BM, get to see, didn't get to own.
Benchmades, Cold Steels, and a few individual pieces (Fred Carter Gigand Adventurer, plethora of Jaguar balis, Boker Applegate-Carebear, and many collectible athame-style knives).
