Currently I only have these 3.

Linder 320811 lockback. Fit % finish is far from perfect, but it's a solid knife. I like to carry it when I go in the forrest.

C Schlieper model 54 half congress. Doesn't look that bad on first glance, eh?

The bolsters are polished only on the mark and pile side and along the spring. Otherwise they're matt. Same for the bone.

Lots of gaps everywhere.

It might be hard to notice from the photo, but the bone cover on the pile side (left one) is quite thicker than the other one.

The main blade has a dent in the edge because it hits the spring when you close it.

The match striker nail nick on the secondary blade is done rather poorly. I'm sure Rough Rider does it a lot better on their knives ...

The main blade is also bent a bit, bolsters aren't of equal length, one is thicker than the other, the center pin was sticking out so much I had to file it down etc. I'm just not bothered to photograph it all ...

I have a variety of German made (Solingen) stockman knives from the 1970s through the '90s, all with very good to excellent quality.

I ISKRA The Half Congress looks ok, initially, but as you point out it has many flaws. No compensation, but I can tell you that I've a Wright's Lambfoot knife that's worse :D Everything that could be wrong on a knife is on it, and, it's a replacement for a defective knife:rolleyes: Pakistan made knives better it, by a long way:mad:

There are German made knives, Hubertus, Puma et al. from the 70s and before that display impressive levels of workmanship, these include auto/flick knives with choice Stag. I don't have any but remember extinct threads about them soon after I began here.....

An awesome display Jeff. Every one of those are something else. The jigged bone and those gunstocks! and sowbelly. The stockmen... amazing.

Thanks, Dwight, I'm very fond of the Solingen knives from that era. Some are easily the equal of GEC quality, some just a tad under, but all are great knives of excellent value.

I guess one needs such a knife to remind oneself to pay attention and be sharp when buying knives. That's the reason why I'm keeping mine.

I'v heard a lot aboud older German knives. Solingen cutlery, especially Rostfrei, has a very big reputation here, at least with a bit older people.

Jeff, your collection never fails to impress, but that ‘78 Fight’n Rooster is extraordinary!

Ickythump and black mamba you both have some really nice Fightn Rooster stockmen. They are hard to beat and seem to get scarcer every day. Thank you both for sharing great pics of them.

Great showing Arathol, I love those last two in gold lip pearl, very special! Here are a few more odds and ends.
