well, not exactly, I'm too dumb to give up and quit, but it seems that I have given myself a hernia in my groin. just big enough to hurt, not enough to get operated right away, but its damn inconvenient. lucky me and my genetics I guess. I guess I shouldn't complain, I can still work for the time being, which is good, just have to be more careful. however depending on how it goes, it could put a damper on summer plans, I'm going to be freaked out of blowing it out for a while, and I'd prefer to do that in town than out in the boonies.
I figured that you are all such a great and wonderful bunch, you could toss a word up the the Big Boss, if you were thinking of it.
Thanks guys!

Upside is I can tell whatever stories I want about the scar!

It happened to me 3 or 4 years ago. It sucks and sometimes it just plain aches, but the doc claims there's no need for surgery yet. But no heavy lifting for me. It pisses me off not to be able to throw large heavy objects around like I used to... but then again that's probably why I have it. :o

It doesn't have to mean you can't do stuff. You just have to be a little more careful. Hang in there man.

Same problem here, except I have no pain. Didn't even know it was there until da doctor found it during a physical.

I managed to injure my lower back a while ago and my left shoulder now. So I feel for ya' bro.

Hey gadgetgeek, it doesn't have to be a big deal. Here in Ontario, there is a clinic that does nothing but hernia repairs. You stay for 3 days. The first day, they do the procedure with a local anaesthetic (you are not put out). When done, they walk you out of the OR!

You get to sleep for a couple of hours, then they get you up and put you on an exercise bike!!!!

You are encouraged to get out and walk.

After your 3 day stay, you are cleared to go back to work!!!! (Unless you have a particularly demanding job). I had it done one weekend and went for a 3 day canoe trip, a week later.

You might have a place like this where you live, then again, when I was there, I met guys from NYC, Ohio, and California! I even heard they've had patients come from as far away as Europe! No, I'm not exaggerating.

If you have any questions, feel free to give me a shout.

Doc

Ive had one, but I've had similar "discomforts and frustrations" down there. Sorry to hear about the pain.

Oh, and scar stories are awesome!
