Of all the stupid things I could have done, and all the machinery in my shop.I was cutting a piece of Harley chain for my third try at a billet for Dave.Had the dumb side grinder grab in the chain and kicked back at me.It hit my little finger then my stomach and procedded to bounce to the other side of the shop.Well my finger was sore while I was getting the billet forged out (third times the charm, yes Dave and Burchtree your orders are ready to ship)When I took my glove off the little finger was swollen and purple.haven't been able to touch it much but it is now finally were I can use it a little.Boy you don't think about how much each finger is used in the shop untill you hurt one.At least it waasn't worse and the grinding blade cut me or anything.

Be careful guys, the least of the machines in the shop can and will get you if you let your guard down:o :o

Sorry to hear of your accident.
You might want to get it xrayed, to make sure it's not broken.
I let a deal like that go one time. Turned out to be a broken bone in the back of my hand, and it had healed with the bones overlapped.
It was real fun when they re broke it, to get it straight.

Hate to say it, but you do know what they call a maker that does that to himself?
Dumba--, er, never mind. You probably already know that:)
Get it checked out. Could be serious.

Sorry to hear that, fella. I smashed a finger with a framing hammer one time. Know what REALLY hurt? Hitting it again the next day! I almost peed my pants. I would get the finger checked out, guy.

Hey Bro, those Harleys get you one way or another. Ask me how I know. Hope Donna Kisses it better for you. Take Care

Yea I know I should get it checked out,but I am not the run to the doctor type of guy more like super glue and duct tape instead. Can't remember the last time I was at the doctors for myself, the girls or Donna yes they are going immediately me never, guess I am being to much like my Old Man..

Think I will go play in the shop today, that is after I mow the lawn and weed eat it like Donna asked me to do,she said I could make hay bales it has gotten so tall:rolleyes: :D .
Have a great weekend everybody..
Bruce

get ti checked, you never know. i have a little toe i stumped over 25 years ago, it turned purple and has not bent since. now it doesnt even touch the ground, my wife makes fun of it when she sees it. so get it checked just in case. :D

yeahup I know what that feels like Bruce
50 ton press broke mine
and tore the nail off at the same time
and then I re-broke it when I flipped a snow sled a week later
I can show you the stitch marks after 25 year :D
grab it and see if it moves in odd directions if it does
then it's broke.. :(

Bruce if you can't bend it you probably did some real damage. Better safe than sorry and wind up with limited movement.
Get ur ass to the ER.
Ask me how I know this, I walked (Hobbled) on a busted ankle for two days and wound up in a cast for seven weeks. But it healed right!

Hey Bruce I know what you mean about stuff happenin fast. I'm in the process of adding another electrical service in my shop, so the other day I went out and pulled the clover on the disconnect to see what I needed to get everything hooked in. Well, as soon as I pulled the cover about 30 red wasps had nested in there and decided I was a target. They came out of there like a squadrian of fighter planes, I decided I had better get going, I took about 3 steps and was just starting to get some speed up when I tripped over a 4" drain pipe that comes from my house gutters. I hit the ground like I had been tackled by a 300# linebacker from the NFL. The good thing is, I went down so fast, I guess the wasps lost sight of me and flew right on by. But my back and right knee is still so stiff its hard to get around good. And the wasps, well they got to go to wasp heaven.

Accidents happen quick, be careful and expect the unexpected.

Bill

I feel for you Bruce. Get it xrayed. You don't want to be hurting for the rest of the year.
Now little finger in the shop story. A number of years ago I got shot in the left hand. I cant move my little finger at all. The darn thing used to get caught in the buffer all the time. (Imagine a very proper little old lady sipping tea with her pinky out. That's the way mine is always)
Anyway...it got so bad I started keeping an end-of-the-world size bag of rubber bands in the shop so I could rubber band it to my ring finger. That worked OK unless I was grinding and bumped the belt with the fingers. When that happened the darn things would fly off and get caught in the grinder. :o

I once broke one of my fingers and self treated it. 3 months later I went to see the doc because I noticed I couldn't bend it. He yanked it back and forth to loosen it up and told me to come and see him next time I injured it.

Bruce, hope you're well, but get it looked at.

Will

Bruce one of my all-time heroes, Warren Zevon, is dying now because he made a habit of not going to the doctor. Don't do that - just go get it checked out. He's not likely to hurt you too bad! :D No worse than you've hurt yourself a hundred times, anyway. :D

I sure urge you to take care of it buddy, it matters. Meanwhile, I hope it lets you get your life back.

Dave

I don't get along well in a doctors office, so I'm gonna keep my mouth shut. Hope you feel better man.

I know times are tight and your like me, if you can duct tape it up and get by you will. Get it checked Bruce, in the end or you could end up with some long term problems.

Least you didn't do like me and try to cut the end off in the bandsaw a while back!
:D

Bruce I will jump on the band wagon.
If you had one.You would take your horse to a vet because it is a tool you need on the farm. You would get and fix your hammer handle if it broke because you need it to work.

You need your hands just as much as any other tools, more in fact.
